Getting ready

Susanne: We have been planning this trip for a while now. After the Macedonia Habitat build last year which I led with my long-time friend Suzanne (Smurf), Chelsea took her Habitat leadership course and the two of us decided on a build in South East Asia. Suzanne is leading a trip to Portugal at around the same time and is taking off on the 3rd (Have a great time, Smurf!). The initial selection of Thailand was recently switched to Cambodia due to the political unrests but we couldn't be happier with Cambodia as our final desination. It was also a destination we planned to visit after the planned Thailand build, so all was good. Chelsea's good friend Michelle also signed on for this 5 week adventure and here we are about 10 days away from our departure date and life is busy with preparations.
Our blog last year had some great feedback, so we will keep another one among the three of us and you will see who writes each entry in the first line. Well, at least we will try to remember to do that. :)

So the plan is to fly into Bangkok on July 8th, stay there until the 11th to sightsee, fly to Cambodia and spend two weeks on the Habitat build from July 11th-25th. After that: we don't know. We know that we fly out three weeks later from Beijing but have spent no time making any bookings, so we are winging it this time around. Hang on for the ride :)
We will introduce the team later on this blog, but they seem like a great bunch and we can't wait to start this adventure with them.

On our "would-be-great-to-see-in-the-other-3-weeks-list": Vietnam, Thailand, parts of China, and hopefully Bali. We will see how it all goes.

One place we discovered this week via an email from my friend Lynn was Huashan, so that is my top pick for things to do in China....can't wait: http://yesboleh.blogspot.com/2006/12/world-most-dangerous-tourist-spot.html
